Lice in your dreadlocks
This is acontribution from Quimei who had lice and knew how to kill them.
Quimei tells us about his experience:
It all started with an itching, but I thought it was normal, dew to a recent fixing of my dreads. But soon I realized I had lice.
I tried using the usual shampoo against lice, but believe me it didn't work at all!
There I started to think of cutting my hair. But keep calm before having to shave your head and loose your dreads. See how I worked it out!
I surfed the web looking for a proper answer but all they suggested was "fumigated" your head with many substances which are really bad for your head. Instead I found something easier and I gave it a try.
Get some ethyl alcohol, a stick of a tree called "Palo amargo" (they look like tiny trunks) and a jar of about 150 cc.
Let stand the sticks in alcohol for 48 hours. Then apply the alcohol directly to
your dreads (fully soaked), cover your face not to cause dizziness, preferably find someone to have it done for you. Use a spray container if you have (It's more practical). Finally sleep with a shower cap.
You should repeat the pocedure at least twice a day. For 3 to 5 days. Once you finish wash your head properly. I applied it twice only and it didn't damage my hair in the least!
You will have another problem next; the nits. Once you've done with the lice there will be nits. they are dead but you can see them with the sun. I think they shouldn't be seen the moment you fix your dreads. In fact they fall by themselves as you touch your hair.
Thanks a lot Quimei for telling us your experience!
We hope it to be of great use for those who are having the problem of lice.
